A Real Wedding, II A bit more from Melinda...Once I had my dress and the colors picked out, the rest waseasy! I used a color palette of black and linen for the rest of the décor. Thefinal inspiration for the rest of the wedding came from a piece of fabriccalled Waverly Damask (see picture). As I was on a budget, and I did not wantto interfere with the natural environment of the location too much, I decidedto buy a bolt of the fabric off eBay and have them made into tablecloths forthe reception. The venue and the winerywere so naturally beautiful, and full of hidden details, that putting pink orbright colors into the space would have been jarring, but the black and whitedamask pattern still made an important impact. I used lanterns that we found ata discount store for our centerpieces, and black chargers from Michael’s to addan extra splash of black under the white dinner plates.I did much of the same type of planning for the ceremonydecoration – the view from the outdoor deck was stunning – mountain vistas androlling plains – so I did not want a lot of interference with it. I chose tobuy two blue and purple hydrangea plants (not flowers, but actual plants) andplopped them into the urns at the end of the aisle. The bridesmaids all carriedblue and purple hydrangea blooms, and I carried the same hydrangeas withpearled white flowers. The groomsmen all wore hydrangea flowers with greenery.Again, hydrangeas in September were inexpensive, and we just went to Home Depotfor the hydrangea plants. Cheap!More to come!
